Semitic-speaking ethnic group in Ethiopia
Tigrayan people are a Semitic-speaking ethnic group who are indigenous to the Tigray Region of northern Ethiopia. They speak Tigrinya, an Afroasiatic language belonging to the North Ethio-Semitic language branch, and written in the Geʽez script serves as the main and one of the five official languages of Ethiopia. Tigrinya is also the main language of the Tigrinya people that live in Eritrea.

Town in Amhara Région, Ethiopia
Sekota, also spelled Sokota, Sakota, Soqota is a town and separate woreda in northern Ethiopia. The name is likely from the Agaw word sakute/ሳቑጠ, "fortified village." Located in the Wag Hemra Zone of the Amhara Region, Sekota has a latitude and longitude of 12°37′31″N 39°02′06″E and an elevation of 2266 meters above sea level. It is surrounded by woreda of Soqota.
