Palestinian territory occupied by Israel
The West Bank is the larger of the two Palestinian territories that make up Palestine. A landlocked territory located on the western bank of the Jordan River near the coast of the Mediterranean Sea in West Asia's Levant region, it is bordered by Jordan and the Dead Sea to the east, and by Israel to the south, west, and north. Since 1967, the territory has been under Israeli occupation, which is illegal under international law.

A group of settlers attacks two homes belonging to the Tubasi family in northern West Bank.
The military said settlers blocked roads, set tires on fire and threw rocks at security forces. They also set fire to Palestinian buildings and vehicles in the village.
The raid came amid mounting international criticism of settler violence, which Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu downplayed last week.
