Indian boxer and Asian Games 2026 gold medallist Lovlina Borgohain paid tribute to veteran actor Nana Patekar, who died at the age of 75 on Thursday, saying her dream of meeting the actor remained unfulfilled and describing his death as a huge loss to the Indian film industry.
Lovlina Borgohain’s Asian Games gold was not just a medal upgrade from silver in the last edition. It was the latest marker in a 15-year career that has taken the Assam boxer through Olympic success, injuries, difficult phases and a mentally demanding Paris 2024 campaign.
Indian ace boxer Lovlina Borgohain, after facing disappointment at the 2024 Olympics, rediscovered her passion for boxing, leading to a gold medal victory at the recent Asian Games in Japan. She aims for direct Olympic qualification through the World Championships and hopes to upgrade her Olympic bronze to gold.
