American murderer (born 1976)
Christa Gail Pike is an American convicted murderer on death row in Tennessee. In 1995, when she was 18, Pike and her boyfriend lured their 19-year-old classmate Colleen Slemmer into a wooded area in Knoxville where they tortured and killed her. Over roughly thirty minutes, Slemmer was beaten, slashed, and had a pentagram carved in her chest before Pike killed her by crushing her skull with a chunk of asphalt.

Nearly five days after Tennessee tried to execute Christa Pike for the brutal 1995 murder of her classmate, she remains unconscious in a guarded hospital; her lawyers seek a life sentence and warn she may never fully recover
“I don’t think that attempting another execution is going to bring justice,” Stephen Ferrell, an assistant federal defender, said.
Christa Pike’s failed execution has left her critically ill, her attorney Stephen Ferrell told CNN, adding that the convicted murderer may have “issues about her competence” if she ever recovers.
