G7 leaders agreed on Friday to release 100 million barrels of diesel and crude after US pressure on Europe, with supplies squeezed by Iran's restrictions on shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.
Global leaders are moving forward with plans to release up to 100 million barrels of emergency oil and diesel stocks over the next four months.
France said the agreement meant the U.S. would not ban the export of diesel.
