Northern Ireland dispute over parades
The Drumcree conflict or Drumcree standoff is a dispute over yearly parades in the town of Portadown in the north of County Armagh, Northern Ireland. The town is mainly Protestant and hosts numerous Protestant and Ulster loyalist marches each summer, but has a significant Catholic minority. The Protestant Orange Order insists that it should be allowed to march its traditional route to and from Drumcree Church on the Sunday before the Twelfth of July. However, most of this route is through the mainly Catholic/Irish nationalist part of town.

Protestant fraternal order based in Northern Ireland
The Loyal Orange Institution, commonly known as the Orange Order, is an international Protestant fraternal order based in Northern Ireland and primarily associated with Ulster Protestants. Due to the spread and outreach of Orangeism, there are lodges around the world, with lodges in England, Scotland, Wales, Republic of Ireland and the United States, as well as in parts of the Commonwealth of Nations, including West Africa, New Zealand and Australia. Historically, Orange lodges have existed in mainland Europe, Central America, South America, the Caribbean and Asia.
