Leighton Brown was a maintenance supervisor. He was walking by a massive tree on Saturday afternoon around 3:30 when part of it fell and hit and killed the 56-year-old.
Detectives say the tree came down around 3:30 p.m. Saturday in the parking lot of 700 Euclid Ave. in the Cypress Hills development and pinned the man to the ground. Mayor Zohran Mamdani named the victim as Leighton Brown.
A NYCHA employee was killed when a tree fell on him in Brooklyn on Saturday.
