Children receiving treatment in the pediatric oncology ward of Rome’s Gemelli Hospital have sent Pope Leo XIV letters and drawings, assuring him of their prayers as he recovers from lung surgery, Vatican News reported.
The Vatican has announced that Pope Leo XIV is recovering from lung surgery. Photos released on Friday showed the pontiff celebrating Mass at Rome's Gemelli Hospital unaided.
Vatican sources also indicated that the pope will publicly lead the Angelus this Sunday, although it has not yet been determined whether it will be from the hospital or the Vatican.
