G7 leaders agreed on Friday to release 100 million barrels of diesel and crude after US pressure on Europe, with supplies squeezed by Iran's restrictions on shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.
Japan says it has no plans for further crude releases from national reserves, even as the G7 launches a 100-million-barrel coordinated stock release.
The IEA says 325 million barrels of strategic reserves have been released since March 11, as the G7 announces a further 100 million barrels.
