Periods of rain in the valleys with mountain snow continuing until Thursday afternoon. Near and cooler than normal temperatures this week.
Forecasters are singling out drivers who are not ready for winter conditions, as the first snow of the season can catch cars still set up for summer.
Snow's blanketing the Grand Mesa this week, visible from town, bringing four to eight inches above 9500 feet. Highway 65 will get icy fast, so locals should wait a day before heading up the mountain.
