Aleksandar Vucic will now be running to be prime minister in the upcoming snap parliamentary elections slated for next month.
Despite student-led protests and political unrest challenging his rule, Vucic intends to run in the snap elections.
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic announced his resignation on Sunday, ending his second and final five-year term, according to media reports. Vucic also wrote on social media previously that being president of Serbia was the greatest honor for him.
