India’s Asian Games campaign received a significant boost on Tuesday as two gold medals on Day 10 helped the country climb back into the top 10 of the medal table. India won eight medals overall, taking its tally to 53 — six gold, 21 silver and 26 bronze — to move into 10th position.
With 45 medals, India remain 12th in the standings, the haul comprising four gold, 18 silver and 21 bronze medals at the end of Day 10 on September 28.
Undaunted by a heavy downpour and chilly conditions, Neeru Dhanda gave India its first ever womens trap gold in the Asian Games before the womens 4x400m relay team added another one in the evening as the country breached the 50 mark in the mega-events medal tally to enter the top-10 here on Tuesday.
