Eastern Pacific hurricane in 2026
Hurricane Simon is a tropical cyclone currently affecting Southwestern Mexico. The twenty-first named storm, eleventh hurricane, and ninth major hurricane of the extremely active 2026 Pacific hurricane season, Simon formed on October 7 from an area of low pressure south of Mexico.

Hurricane Simon battered Mexico’s Pacific coast on Monday with heavy rain and strong winds, while the remnants of Tropical Storm Rachel left communities flooded in the US Southwest. The weather systems caused deaths, damaged homes and roads, and forced evacuations across affected areas.
Hurricane Simon is pounding Mexico’s Pacific coast as a Category 3 storm, with winds threatening resorts near Puerto Vallarta and communities in its path as it moved northward.
