The search for twelve kitchen staff still missing after Sunday's avalanche at Himlung Himal Base Camp in Manang has been paused, rescuers said on Monday, after the volunteer team recovered four bodies and concluded no one else had survived.

The avalanche hit the base camp of the 7,126-metre peak on Sunday, burying tents where supporting staff and mountain guides were taking shelter. Rescuers are racing against bad weather and treacherous terrain to find the eight people who remain missing.
