President Trump said he was rejecting an Iranian plan to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. The Iranian proposal is similar to a memorandum of understanding agreed upon by the U.S. and Iran back in June.
Despite Trump’s comments, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said no rejection had come through official channels.
Iranian officials that while they were aware of Trump's comments on rejecting the new proposal, they had not received a formal message rejecting the plan that would open the Strait of Hormuz.
