Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić resigned on Sunday ahead of the 25 October 25 snap parliamentary election, clearing the way for him to seek the prime minister's post. Parliament Speaker Ana Brnabić will serve as acting president until an early presidential election is held.
Despite student-led protests and political unrest challenging his rule, Vucic intends to run in the snap elections.
Aleksandar Vucic will now be running to be prime minister in the upcoming snap parliamentary elections slated for next month.
