A powerful nor’easter’s waves and erosion uncovered suspected remains of the 1884 Warren Sawyer shipwreck along Nantucket’s South Shore.
A local journalist spotted wreckage most likely belonging to the Warren Sawyer near where fragments believed to be from the doomed schooner were discovered in 2022.
The identity of the ship is still being investigated, but it appears to be a vessel that ran aground in the 1880s.
