President Trump’s Russia diesel deal is drawing criticism from both parties and U.S. allies, with concerns about sanctions and Ukraine’s war. Supporters say it could lower prices, but lawmakers are pushing for new legislation to block Russian oil imports.
"We were very clear that Russia is the aggressor. Russia is the one who can end this war by backing out of [the] territory they occupied," said one Republican Senator.
A bipartisan group of six senators called for the Trump administration to “immediately reverse course” on a plan to purchase diesel from Russia as part of an effort to lower high fuel prices.
