American cyclist (born 1971)
Lance Edward Armstrong is an American former professional road racing cyclist. He achieved international fame for winning the Tour de France a record seven consecutive times from 1999 to 2005, but was stripped of his titles in 2012 after an investigation into doping allegations found that Armstrong used performance-enhancing drugs over his career. Armstrong has been banned for life from all sanctioned bicycling events since 2012, though he retired from professional cycling in 2011.

Brandon McNulty captured the men's elite road race on the final day of UCI Road World Championships in Montreal. McNulty, 28, became the first American to win an elite road race world title since Lance Armstrong struck rainbow gold at Oslo in 1993.
Joking with his wife before the biggest single-day race in cycling, Brandon McNulty said it would take a miracle to become world champion.
Brandon McNulty is the third U.S. man to win the road race at the World Road Cycling Championships.
