Brisbane's iconic Story Bridge is set to close for three weeks over the new year for maintenance. The repairs include resurfacing the southern approach and parts of the northern approach, as well as structural deck maintenance and waterproofing.
Story Bridge in Brisbane will be closed from December 27, 2026, to January 18, 2027, for repairs to road surfaces, carriageway structures and waterproofing.
While council expects traffic volume to be significantly reduced over the closure period, drivers who frequent the bridge are being urged to start considering alternative routes.
