Justin Brooks Verlander is a former American professional baseball pitcher who played 21 seasons of Major League Baseball (MLB). He played for the Detroit Tigers, Houston Astros, New York Mets, and San Francisco Giants. A three-time Cy Young Award winner, an American League Most Valuable Player Award recipient, and a two-time World Series champion, Verlander is considered one of the greatest pitchers in baseball history.

The Detroit Tigers are an American professional baseball team based in Detroit. The Tigers compete in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a member club of the American League (AL) Central Division. One of the AL's eight charter franchises, the club was founded in Detroit as a member of the minor league Western League in 1894 and is the only Western League team still in its original city. They are also the oldest American League team still playing in their original city under their original name.

Legendary pitcher Justin Verlander pitched his final MLB game on Saturday, his first back at Comerica Park in a Tigers uniform since he was traded.
Verlander won the 2011 American League MVP and Cy Young Award with the Tigers, who drafted him No. 2 overall in 2004.
