At least 15 Nepali workers were killed after an avalanche buried a mountain camp they were preparing for foreign climbers in central Nepal, making it the deadliest incident of the country’s autumn climbing season, which ends this month.
A ground team is all set to resume search and recovery for missing mountain workers at the Himlung Himal base camp today, said the expedition organizer.
The victims were among 16 Nepali workers and support staff preparing routes and camps ahead of foreign climbers when the avalanche struck the 7,126-metre peak on September 26.
