Imprisoned former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak does not have the RM50 million to secure his house arrest, said his lawyer Tan Sri Muhammad Shafee Abdullah.
The jailed former Malaysian prime minister’s eldest son told reporters that even if his father's frozen assets were released, his family would still be unable to immediately raise the fine for Najib to serve his sentence at home as part of a royal pardon.
The Kuala Lumpur High Court will decide on Oct 14 on whether to grant Najib’s request. Read more at straitstimes.com.
