Jewish nationalist movement
Zionism is an ethnic nationalist movement that emerged in late 19th-century Europe to establish and support a Jewish homeland through colonization in the region of Palestine, which roughly corresponds to the Land of Israel in Judaism—itself central to Jewish history. Zionism was the main force behind the creation of the State of Israel in 1948, and remains the country's dominant ideology today.

Prime Minister Andy Burnham condemns Green Party motion defining Zionism as racism, saying Labour cannot enter a partnership with a party that supports such a position.
“It is wrong. It is antisemitic, and this side of the House will have nothing to do with it, and we will always take the right response when it comes to any partnerships we have with other parties.”
Four of the party’s five MPs opposed it: Adrian Ramsay, Ellie Chowns, Carla Denyer and Siân Berry. Hannah Spencer abstained.
