Rescuers have recovered the bodies of four people from the Himlung Himal Base Camp avalanche site in Manang, the Nepal National Mountain Guide Association (NNMGA) said, as the search for others still missing continues
The avalanche hit the base camp of the 7,126-metre peak on Sunday, burying tents where supporting staff and mountain guides were taking shelter. Rescuers are racing against bad weather and treacherous terrain to find the eight people who remain missing.
"Yesterday, the team recovered the bodies of Mr. Chhebi Bhote, Mr. Pasang Bhote. Today, two more deceased climbers have been recovered Mr. Birendra Gurung, Mr. Ghan Shyam Rai," the association noted in the update.
