American basic cable channel owned by Paramount
Black Entertainment Television (BET) is an American basic cable network targeting Black American audiences. It is the flagship channel of the BET Media Group, a subsidiary of Paramount Skydance Corporation's Media Networks division. Launched as a USA Network programming block on January 25, 1980, BET evolved into a full-fledged cable channel in September 1982.
