Eastern Pacific hurricane in 2026
Hurricane Simon is a tropical cyclone currently affecting Southwestern Mexico. The twenty-first named storm, eleventh hurricane, and ninth major hurricane of the extremely active 2026 Pacific hurricane season, Simon formed on October 7 from an area of low pressure south of Mexico.

The hurricane’s center swirled parallel to the coast, closing in on the Puerto Vallarta area, where damaging winds and rain were expected to continue through Monday morning.
