Rallying championship series, highest level of rallying competition
The World Rally Championship (WRC) is an international rallying series owned and governed by the FIA. Inaugurated in 1973, it is the third oldest FIA world championship. Each season lasts one calendar year, and typically consists of 13 three- to four-day rally events driven on surfaces ranging from gravel and tarmac to snow and ice. Each rally is usually split into 15–25 special stages which are run against the clock on up to 350 kilometres (220 mi) of closed roads.
More on Wikipedia ↗The WRC’s 2027 calendar includes its first American round since 1988, with a gravel rally planned for Tennessee and Kentucky.
New events include Rally USA, Rally Scotland and Rally Italy (near Rome). Portugal and Sardinia will no longer take place. The season finale will be held in Saudi Arabia.
The World Rally Championship has finally announced the 2027 calendar, which sees the return of rallies in the U.S and UK as part of a 15-round season.
