A local journalist spotted wreckage most likely belonging to the Warren Sawyer near where fragments believed to be from the doomed schooner were discovered in 2022.
The Warren Sawyer ran aground on Dec. 22, 1884, while carrying 1,115 bales of cotton and 28 tons of scrap iron from New Orleans to Boston.
The wreckage was spotted in the same area where other fragments of the ship were discovered in 2022 and 2023.
