Eastern Pacific hurricane in 2026
Hurricane Nolo is an active tropical cyclone south of the Hawaiian Islands, currently impacting the archipelago. The nineteenth named storm and ninth hurricane of the 2026 Pacific hurricane season, Nolo first formed as a tropical depression on September 13. Initially designated as Fifteen-E, it soon degenerated to a remnant low due to wind shear.

Nolo was a Category 2 hurricane with maximum sustained winds of 100 mph early Saturday, the National Hurricane Center said, as its outer rainbands hit the Big Island.
Hurricane Nolo just skirted the Hawaiian Islands as it gained intensity on Saturday, but officials said it still posed a risk for flash floods, dangerous winds and extreme surf.
Hurricane Nolo has rapidly intensified into a Category 4 hurricane. Hurricane watches have been issued for parts of Hawaii as Nolo brings winds and high surf.
