Equity mutual fund schemes recorded a net inflow of Rs 38,306 crore in September, a 31 per cent increase from the previous month, driven by strong investor interest in mid-cap and small-cap funds despite stock market volatility and foreign portfolio investor (FPI) sell-offs.
The increase in gold ETF inflows came as the broader mutual fund industry recorded net outflows of Rs 1.33 lakh crore in September, reversing the net inflows of Rs 41,353 crore reported in August.
In September, equity mutual fund inflows surged by 31% month-on-month, totaling Rs 38,306 crore. Smallcap mutual funds notably drew in record inflows of Rs 9,038 crore for the third month straight.
