ITC shares fell nearly 4 per cent on Thursday, making it the top loser on the Nifty 50, after a large block deal worth ₹9,437 crore changed hands in the pre-open session. The stock was trading at ₹255.25 on the NSE at 11.26 am, down ₹10.45 or 3.93 per cent, hovering just above its 52-week low of ₹2…
At the end of the June quarter, Goldman Sachs Trust II - Goldman Sachs GQG Partners International Opportunities Fund had a 2.06% stake in ITC, while GQG Partners Emerging Markets Equity Fund had a 1.06% stake. Together, these two entities held just over 39 lakh shares in the company.
ITC witnessed a nearly Rs 9,437 crore block deal as a GQG-linked fund sold 36.51 crore shares, while Fidelity and major Indian mutual funds bought stakes. The transaction comes as ITC shares remain under pressure from taxation concerns and weak volume recovery.
